Staff were very helpful and friendly but room wasn't very good, was very tired and dated, bathroom was in urgent need of restoration, tiles damaged, mould in grout, shower screen falling to bits. Soundproofing on double doors of Juliet balcony not up to city centre standards. Whole room required total restoration. Nice large comfortable double bed though so not all bad!

Rooms need update, shower over flowed into main area had to use all towels to mop up rang front desk came up didn't seem to bothered about it. Restaurant was closed first night. The only thing I liked the bed was confortable. Only stayed as was close to the hospital for pre and post surgery

We stay at the Copthorne for two nights before travelling to the South Island.
The location of the hotel is very good and the overall service at the hotel is average.
Unfortunately our toilet door was a sliding door which was virtually of its rail. It neither opened or closed adequately.
When we drew this to the attention of the reception staff they showed little interest. By the following day after our complaint the door was just about repaired in a fashion and could easily be opened if you were a heavy weight wrestler.
Cleaners, supervisors & management all allowed this poor level of service to happen and continue.
Their bar downstairs was unwelcoming and did not serve after 9pm which beggars the question how does New Zealand’s hospitality industry make money compared to other areas of the world.
Not the worse hotel, adequate but certainly not worthy of a recommendation.
No doubt Copthorne management will thank me for the feed back, say how disappointed they are, play the review game and do nothing to raise there standards.
Hope l am completely wrong.

Rooms are very dated but very clean. Bed was really comfortable and the 50insh has many sport and movies. Food at the restaurant is really good and the breakfast is awesome! Great value too. Decent views from the balcony, very nice at night.

Good location and friendly staff. However hotel rooms look and feel is not too great. Very limited parking available on site with difficulty to get in and out with car if you are checking in/out.

We booked a table at the restaurant last night before a show, as we were staying there. Ordered drinks and the meal about 5mins after we sat down. Great! Reminded them about the drinks after 30mins and then repeatedly asked when our meal was coming. They had completely forgotten our order. Nearly an hour later we eventually cancelled, got up and left, rather than miss our show. Would not recommend!!

Ficamos por duas noites, o hotel é confortável, boas camas, bem localizado e tem estacionamento privado no local, de fácil acesso. O que realmente se destacou foi o staff do hotel, simpático e prestativo, desde o nosso primeiro contato na recepção, passando pelo serviço de quarto, bar, restaurante e cozinha, foram todos ótimos, vimos muito multitarefa um sinal óbvio de um estabelecimento bem administrado . Nós com certeza ficaríamos novamente neste hotel.

Nos alojamos por dos noches, el hotel es cómodo, buenas camas, bien ubicado y tiene estacionamiento en la calle en el lugar, de fácil acceso. Lo que realmente se destacó fue el personal del hotel, amable y servicial, desde nuestro primer contacto en la recepción, pasando por el servicio de habitaciones, el bar, el restaurante y la cocina, todos fueron geniales, vimos muchas tareas múltiples, una señal obvia de un establecimiento bien administrado. . We stayed for two nights, the hotel is comfortable, good beds, well located and has off street parking on site, easy to get to. What really stood out was the hotel staff, friendly and helpful, from our first contact at reception, through room service, bar, restaurant and kitchen, they were all great, we saw a lot of multi tasking an obvious sign of a well run establishment. We would definitely stay again at this hotel.

O quarto era limpo e arrumado. Muito aborrecido que, à chegada, nos foi solicitado um vínculo extra de $ 100 - em nenhum lugar isso foi escrito ou explicado quando tocamos e reservamos o nosso quarto. Nós pedimos uma varanda, mas era minúsculo, então qualquer chance de desfrutar de um vinho lá fora se foi! Tive que ligar a chaleira no banheiro como nenhum lugar para ligá-lo no quarto! Pontos de energia em lugares muito estranhos! Nenhum exaustor no banheiro, então acabou com um espelho embaçado. MAS foi bom n perto de Queen Street, a equipe era agradável - bônus de $ 100 devolvido quando saímos, o jantar foi adorável e as camas eram super confortáveis. Provavelmente ficaria novamente.

Room was clean and tidy. Very annoyed that upon arrival we were asked for extra $100 bond - NOWHERE was this written or explained when we rang and booked our room. We did ask for a balcony but it was was teeny tiny , so any chance of enjoying a wine out there was gone! Had to plug kettle in bathroom as no where to plug it in the room! Power points in very odd places! No extractor fan in bathroom so ended up with a foggy mirror. BUT was nice n close to Queen Street,staff were pleasant - $100 bond refunded as we left , dinner was lovely and beds were super comfy. Would probably stay again.

Este é o meu hotel sempre que vou a um concerto (infelizmente não vou há anos), fica a uma curta distância a pé da arena acesa (se você descer as escadas, acabou de passar pelo hotel, você chega lá mais rápido) e os quartos são de um tamanho decente. Equipe absolutamente maravilhosa! Espero que atos internacionais possam recomeçar para que eu possa voltar

Este es mi lugar al que ir al hotel cada vez que voy a un concierto (así que, lamentablemente, no he estado en años) está a poca distancia a pie del estadio Spark (si baja las escaleras, acaba de pasar el hotel, llega más rápido) y las habitaciones están de un tamaño decente. ¡Personal absolutamente maravilloso! Con suerte, los actos internacionales podrán comenzar de nuevo para que pueda regresar.

This is my go to hotel whenever I go to a concert (so sadly I haven’t been in ages) it’s within walking distance to spark arena (if you go down the stairs just passed the hotel you get there quicker) and the rooms are of a decent size. Absolutely wonderful staff! Hopefully international acts will be able to start up again so that I’m able to return

They did not mention a bond in description or terms and conditions. We paid for parking only to be told to park further down the road at the nearest wilson parking because the car park was full. Not good enough!!
