Nunca fiquei hospedado neste hotel mas vou la com alguma frequencia. Tem um exelente bar uma belíssima piscina e uma entrada magnífica em fim um bom local para gozar umas ótimas férias.

Lovely place, great food, decent drinks. Take all the bad reviews with the pinch of salt. Hotel is very clean, staff is friendly and helpful. If you want hustle and bussle, then you should go to Benidorm, but if you want to relax and have a pleasant time then you will enjoy it here.
Truly excellent hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff and experience was first class. The rooms were lovely and modern with plenty of space throughout. Poolside excellent (not the biggest pools but plenty enough). Food for an all inclusive was up there with the best we have been to if not the best. Drinks all good too, options to self serve and be served. The bookable restaurant was a lovely setting, the food was not really of the taste of most of our party but cannot fault it for service, presentation etc. Genuinely fantastic hotel. Only real faults would be location does not have too much around and if you have kids the only place we found to get pool floats was the hotel next door as Riu Madeira no longer has a shop (they should get one as money to be made). Not a real issue though.
Rooms are large & spacious. Quick, efficient service available from the many staff on site. The location is a bit too remote as in there is very little on offer within walking distance of the hotel. A couple of small shops & a handful of food places (I say food places as terming a restaurant would be unjust). No problem with places to sit & eat or obtaining sunbeds but do get in early although sunbed reservation is frowned upon & towels have been noted as moved when beds have been unoccupied for some time. Food can become repetitive but is always plentiful, healthy & the desserts do not come laced with syrup 😁. Self serve soft drinks & draught beer all around hotel communal areas. Rooms cleaned daily (often too early 8-9am) but floors rarely swept. Pool area is generally tidy & the bar staff are continually cleaning away cups & plates that are left around however, not once was the area around the pools or sunbeds properly cleaned, as in swept, hosed down etc by the ground staff leaving food & drinks spillages to dry but this was probably a debate over who should be responsible (Grounds or bar staff). Bar staff were great, always on hand, always friendly & welcoming. Weather a bit inconsistent. Quite breezy being on the coast & a fair amount of cloud but when clear, very hot but not unbearable.

Everything was awesome, from the beginning to the end of our stay. The hotel staff treats you like a king. Food, pools, reception, bar are on the highest possible level, and this view of the ocean... breathtaking.
Great stay in June, staff at the restaurant and bars amazing, particularly Erica and Edson and Julian at the bar. Ivo by the lounges was great too. Having great staff is really the hotel’s UVP! The only sour point was right at the end with a taxi booking that was mishandled - we almost did not make it in time to be able to clear check in and security for our flight… unnecessary stress to end a holiday!!
We have stayed in this hotel for many years. The refurbishment was excellent, the staff as friendly and helpful as ever from reception, waiting on staff through to the cleaning crew. Unfortunately certain changes especially concerned with the bar area where service has been cancelled all together and it has now become virtually a self-service area. We are seriously considering taking our custom elsewhere in future. Shame as we really like the area and hotel staff.

Mais pequeno que o habitual nos Riu, mas naturalmente condicionado pela pequena dimensão da ilha. Instalações muito boas, quartos espaçosos e perfeitamente isolados, deixando ouvir apenas o bater do mar. Serviço simpático, mas com notória preferência pelo turista estrangeiro. Foi o primeiro de muitos Riu que conheci que impunha hora marcada para o jantar buffet...
Amazing hotel. Such professional and attentive staff, you never had to wait a minute to get a drink in your hand! 😁 It's a very beautiful hotel, so many different services in the hotel aswell. Only thing lacking is more vegetarian options in the buffet. Otherwise everything was amazing! Oh and the view! I will never forget the view!
This was our second stay at the hotel and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first time. The staff are really fantastic and can’t do enough for you to make your stay wonderful. Special thanks to Maria and team for the lovely room and celebration gift. The food, especially the fish was really good, plenty of choice and something for everyone. Fantastic Christmas gala dinner. Thanks also to Erika in the restaurant who always had a lovely smile and warm welcome. We felt really safe and everyone wore masks around the hotel. The courtesy bus is a great service into Funchal. Thank you to everyone at Riu Palace Madeira for making our holiday wonderful.
Lovely all inclusive deal here. Staff very cordial and helpful. Options of good & drink exceptional. Clean covid rules applied also. Panoramic vistas of the ocean are a big plus.
Excellent hotel, exceptionally clean, staff very helpful and friendly. Covid measures to a very high standard. So much choice in food, no vegan options, I could have mentioned this but didn't find it a problem with the choice that was available. Pool area, brilliant, always clean and tidy, with a beautiful sea view. You can walk onto the promenade from the Hotel, all on the level. We really can't fault this hotel and location if you want a quiet relaxing holiday.

We had i fabulous weekat the Riu Palace 😍 i had read lots of reviews all good , but they could not have prepared me for the beautiful old world charm of the grand entrance which carries on throughout the hotel !!!We arrived in our room to a plate of fresh fruit and a bottle of Madeira wine water in the fridge. It is pristine , from the rooms buildings pool dining rooms . The staff work so hard to make your stay memorable from reception to housekeeping. The food was lovely so much choice and theycater for everyone vegetarians , people with special dietary requirements huge choice meat fish Fantastic ! We will definitely be returning THANKYOU TO ALL AT THE RIU PALACE.
Loved our stay at the Riu Palace. We stayed all inclusive. Food and drinks were excellent. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and efficient.Room was excellent,air con, room safe, cleaned daily. Pool area fantastic, plenty of sun beds, mats for beds, pool bar. Right on sea front, pebbly beach but plenty of areas to swim. Entertainment every night. Free hourly shuttle bus into Funchal. Not a lot going on in Canico de Baixo. More suited to couples than family with young children.

Great place to stay. Very covid aware masks are worn by everyone and tongs used by each personto get food. Hotel hasthree pools all very clean and a gym. Might be the time if year but the gym is normally fairly empty. Helpful staff and well maintained hotel. We have been to a few RIU hotels and they are all of a high standard

Fiquei hospedado 6 noites neste hotel, foram excelentes, hotel de estilo clássico com excelente infraestrutura, quartos com decoração anos 90, muito limpo e cama confortavel, vista magnifica sobre o mar, piscinas excelentes com jacuzzi exterior, sala de jantar glamorosa, funcionários sempre disponiveis e atentos aos pequenos detalhes, excelente localização, o unico reparo que faço é que deviam apostar em mais produtos regionais da Madeira... senti-me muito bem... obrigado pelos momentos que me proporcionaram.

This hotel is five star all the staff are first class and work very hard to keep there guests very safe during this covid 19 epidemic..I wouldn't hesitate to go back to a RUI hotel..nothing is too much trouble..the food is amazing as is the hotel .

You'll see beautiful scenery, imperial furniture, fine equipped rooms, quite friendly staff. Small compliment at the arrival and a special place for cats feeding completes the picture. Remember the beach is stony (but you have 4 pools, including indoor one), icecream is not for free, unless for dinner and you won't be disappointed.Sorry, -1 star for the cocktails,no matter with or without alcohol. Something is seriously wrong with them

Me alojé 6 noches en este hotel, fueron excelentes, hotel de estilo clásico con excelente infraestructura, habitaciones con decoración de los 90, cama muy limpia y cómoda, magnífica vista al mar, excelentes piscinas con jacuzzi exterior, comedor glamoroso, personal siempre disponible y atento a los pequeños detalles, excelente ubicación, lo único que hago es que apuesten por más productos regionales de Madeira ... Me sentí realmente bien ... gracias por los momentos que me brindaron.

Los gatos viven al aire libre junto a la piscina y en el paseo marítimo, pueden moverse libremente y no molestan a los huéspedes. Tengo que decepcionar a cualquiera que teme que huela a gato, orina o excrementos. Como dije, el complejo está muy limpio y bien mantenido.Porque sé que muchos otros hoteles (también en otros países) no quieren animales en sus instalaciones, creo que el compromiso aquí es particularmente grande.¡Definitivamente regresaré y ya estoy deseando que llegue este momento!

Es un muy buen hotel, con buen servicio ... con jardines bien cuidadosEstuvimos allí 10 días y solo puedo recomendarlo. Hay una gran variedad de ofertas para el desayuno y la cena. El personal es muy servicial y puede hablar maravillosamente en alemán e inglés. Quien huya a Madeira debe reservar una habitación allí. y disfruta el tiempo y déjate mimar

Hotel excelente comida y servicio. Regresará. Maderia es montañosa. Espléndidas vistas. Intente reservar viajes con guías turísticos en Funchal, agradables y tranquilos. Un consejo, los viajes fuera de la carretera son muy difíciles, así que si te llevas un poco como yo o tienes problemas de espalda, echaría de menos los 4x4. Los jardines botánicos a través del teleférico son una agradable mañana o tarde.
Hotel great food and service. Will return. Maderia is mountainous. Splendid views. Try booking trips with tour guides in Funchal, nice and peaceful. Tip, off road trips are very rough, so if you're getting on a bit like me or you have back problems, I'd give the 4x4's a miss. The botanical gardens via cable car is a nice morning or afternoon out.
Great hotel with an amazing view . The placement is magnificent, right at the ocean shores. Service is great , incredible food . Rooms might need a bit of renovating , but it was not a problem for me personally .

Servicio superior, gastronomía superior y habitaciones espaciosas. Hotel muy limpio ubicado directamente en el paseo marítimo. La parada de autobús a Funchal está enfrente del hotel. Muy buen hotel. Excelente personal bien capacitado. Sin embargo, no es adecuado para familias con niños pequeños, al menos fuera de temporada. Esto no se debe al personal, sino a los otros invitados, que al menos en parte no entendían a los niños. Así que una señora mayor le pidió a nuestra hija menor en un tono brusco (¡no en el restaurante sino en la piscina!) Que mantuviera la boca cerrada. En este caso, una estrella menos.
Nos alojamos en el hotel en noviembre de 2019 y el personal es muy amable y servicial.Los jardines y las habitaciones están limpias, la comida tiene una buena selección y sabe bien.Había música en vivo o espectáculos todas las noches. La decoración de la habitación es un poco antigua pero de alta calidad. Volveremos al hotel nuevamente.

Excelente relación calidad-precio y pasar un buen rato disfrutar de las mejores vistas de la piscina y la comida era excelente, muy buenas opciones, excelente personal, limpio y ordenado, a 10 minutos en coche del aeropuerto y no demasiado ocupado, sentirse renovado después de 1 semana es mucho relajarse y disfrutar.
El personal es genial, muy amable y cortés, especialmente Anja, la representante de TUI que da el 110%. Dios la bendiga. Comida deliciosa y entretenimiento muy profesional y agradable.
The hotel is slightly aged by it's decor but it's been kept well and very clean. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The pools are on the cold side but there's plenty of seating by the pool/in the sun and you can look out over the sea. They provide free towels by the pool.The food was good and freshly made, lots of options and lovely desserts too. They had a good range of gluten free options too for my husband. They provide free bottled water. The bars serve a good range of drinks including some great cocktails (and mocktails!)Our room was nice, although TV didn't have any English channels that I recall. There was a small fridge for keeping water/drinks, a large bathroom, nice big comfy bed and seating area. They also kindly gifted us a bottle of sparkling wine in our room on arrival.

El servicio del bar es impactante, así como las bebidas proporcionadas en cualquier momento del día, todo es igual, habitación a la sombra desde el amanecer hasta el atardecer y al lado de una carretera ... El área de la piscina y el restaurante son muy buenos, pero el bar de la piscina como el principal muy pobre en servicio y las bebidas no mejoran ... Son el último día que tenemos un baño lleno de hormigas, en general no volveré a visitar este hotel ... Just spent a week at the hotel via Thomson/Tui. Fully inclusive. Huge variety. Cooked in front of you too! Drinks- wide choice.Service swift. Rooms are fine. Not dated just classic. All fresh and large.Staff all superb. Spoke English and German to guests, as that was the make up of clientele.Entertainment good quality and varied. Two acts per evening.FREE Shuttle bus from hotel to Funchal and back. Brilliant!Beds made and room tidied in good time.3 pools. 2 out (1 was heated to good temp.) 1 indoor pool of good size. Sauna, fitness, wellbeing, hair, beauty etc all in hotel.Great!
The Bar service is Shocking, as well as the Beverages provided anytime of the Day it's all the same , room in the shade from sunrise to sunset and next to a road....The pool area and restaurant are very good but the pool bar like the main one very poor in service and the Beverages dont get any better.... Hotel al más alto nivel pero definitivamente para adultos sin niños. Buena comida y muy variada. Actuaciones nocturnas y una banda solo para adultos. El servicio es único en su clase. No hay problema con la comunicación y todos son extremadamente educados y sonrientes. Buen tiempo
El Riu Palace Madeira tiene su propio encanto amoroso. Trabaja armoniosamente en la concepción y te invita a relajarte y sentirte bien. El personal fue muy amable, siempre servicial y atento en el trato con todos los huéspedes. Felicitaciones a todos los empleados del equipo (desafortunadamente solo 5 estrellas, deberían ser más). La calidad de la comida del buffet es buena y variada. Si no encuentras nada en la selección, realmente tienes que hacer un esfuerzo para no querer comer nada. Las habitaciones no están técnicamente actualizadas (por ejemplo, toma de carga USB a ambos lados de la cama), pero en general son funcionales y están amuebladas con un carácter amoroso para que se sienta como en casa. El frigorífico y la caja fuerte existentes tienen sentido. La limpieza del baño, un poco vieja, estaba impecable.Conclusión: Fue un momento agradable y relajado en el Riu Palace Madeira, con gusto nuevamente en cualquier momento. Todo incluido realmente tiene sentido aquí, aunque solo sea por las bebidas y la buena comida y los bocadillos. Deberías darte un capricho con algo así más a menudo. Es cierto aquí: "¡Si Riu está en él, Riu está adentro!"

La buena decoración del hotel es bastante anticuada con sillones lujosos en las habitaciones. Muy amable y atento personal alemán es muy bueno. Come una excelente y duradera (incluso para golpes tardíos). Me sentí cómodo aquí.

A wonderful time for us and our friends at a most friendly and obliging hotel, the cuisine was excellently prepared and displayed which made you hungry just to look at it, all the facilities were well maintained by happy staff including pool bar and leisure and fitness suites, as many have said before us although the rooms were clean and tidied byhard working cleaners the rooms were very tired not surprising after the time the building were last refurbished but you will love it,it is in a secluded location.

Hay un fantástico servicio al cliente. Hay 5 piscinas y un bar. Puedes relajarte en silencio y con hermosas vistas. El complejo está en una excelente ubicación. Está cerca del océano y hay muchos bares, restaurantes y tiendas. El hotel tiene su propio Wi-Fi y una parada de autobús y una galería comercial están muy cerca del hotel.

Sé que muchas personas dicen que este lugar podría hacer una pequeña actualización con la que estoy de acuerdo, pero aún así no arruinará la experiencia. Tuvimos que esperar la habitación a la llegada, lo cual fue un poco molesto después de que viajamos desde las 2 am, pero la gerencia se disculpó y al día siguiente encontramos una botella de vino de maderia de cortesía en nuestra habitación. Fue un buen toque.Realmente me gustaría destacar que este hotel tiene solo un restaurante, pero ese es el mejor en el que he comido. Sinceramente, las palabras no pueden describir. No sé cómo lo hacen, pero siempre hay una gran variedad de alimentos para el desayuno, el almuerzo y la cena. Estuvimos una semana pero nunca comimos lo mismo dos veces. Excepto una cosa que se está convirtiendo en nuestro postre favorito todo el tiempo. Sirvieron esta fruta dulce en jugo con helado todas las noches después de la cena, lo cual no puedo entender qué y cómo, pero ese es el mejor postre que he probado.Hay grandes espectáculos cada noche en un lugar tipo teatro dentro del hotel. Las cosas trabajan duro y hacen todo por ti que ni siquiera necesitas pedir.La piscina no es enorme, pero si tiene suerte, puede encontrar una tumbona y tener una bonita tumbona alrededor de una piscina.El servicio de traslado en autobús funciona todos los días al centro de la ciudad, solo toma 20 minutos y está en Funchal, donde puede encontrar todo lo que necesita.Realmente nos encantó este hotel RIU y volvería en cualquier momento sin dudarlo.

Muy buen hotel, no hay tiendas cerca, pero hay un supermercado, un pequeño cuarto de baño a la izquierda del hotel, si quieres nadar en el mar, de lo contrario el polo es muy bueno. El bar sirve buenas bebidas.

My favourite holiday in my life. The place is relaxing. This is the holiday where we fall in love with RIU. I know many people saying this place could do with a little update which I agree with but it still won't ruin the experience for you. We had to wait for the room on arrival which was a bit annoying after we travelled since 2 am but the management apologised for and next day we find a complimentary bottle of maderia wine left in our room. It was a nice touch.I really would like to highlight this hotel has only one restaurant but that one is the best I ever eat in. Honestly words can't describe. I don't know how they do it but there is always a great choice of foods for breakfast lunch and dinner too. We stayed for a week but never ate a same thing twice. Except one thing which is becoming our favourite dessert all the time. They served this sweet fruit in juice with ice cream every evening after dinner which I can't figure out what and how but that is the best dessert I ever had.There are great shows every evening in a theatre kind of place inside the hotel. Stuff are hard working and doing everything for you you don't even need to ask.Pool is not a huge one but if you are lucky you can find a sunbed and have a nice lay down around a pool.Shuttle bus is running every day to the town centre it's only take 20 minutes and you are in Funchal where you can find everything you need.We really loved this RIU hotel and would return anytime without a hesitation.

My ocean view was a building site, glad I paid 150 extra for it.Pool and daytime's the place is great and awesome food.The issue is the night time, the entertainment is about as good as a school play and it repeats every week. If your there for more than a week... Well, welcome to groundhog Day.
Absolutely stunning hotel. Staff cant do enough for you. Joana on reception was fantastic. Food was great and plentiful, lots to choose from. We had a 2030pm flight, but was offered a room to shower in, as we had checked out. Evening entertainment was bit dated but was great for the other guests who were mainly over 50. Our tui rep Paula was amazing, very helpful. Only fault I can find is that you are given a time to have you're evening meal, as there's 2 sittings. Ours was 2030pm which I found to be a bit too late to eat, but there's a themed evening restaurant you can eat at 1900hrs which is a set menu, was lovely food, served by very friendly staff. Would definately recommend the rui palace to friends.
Charming hotel close to the sea with free shuttle bus tour to Funchal several times every day. Good rooms whereof many have a beautiful sea view. Tasty and ample food. All-inclusive is well worth paying extra for. The waiters and staff in general are very kind and service-minded. Almost all guests are adults.If you want a peaceful vacation at a really good hotel this is a good option.
They have a sheet that they give you about all the common allergies and then all the food that they are serving and beside it is a little symbol of what allergens would be in the food that is being served. DO NOT TRUST this at all. I ate rice which clearly said there was no nuts but infact had almonds in it !!!I have a very severe peanut allergy and was advised to avoid all nuts... obviously they do not take it seriously at all and tried to tell me it's because the people mix up the spoons but then they checked with the cook and said oh ya it's made with almonds just didnt put that on the sheet or infront of the rice.If your going to have this system for people to trust do it properly bunch of incompetent humans risking people's lives.
We have holidayed in Portugal for near on 40 years & have never had a bad holiday, so this year we thought we would try Madeira for the first time, 'boy have we missed out! All of the staff are amazing & I say this with all my heart" we wanted for nothing at this beautiful hotel.This was a special holiday for us as it was my 60th birthday, my brother in law & sister in law traveled with us, they both feel the same about this wonderful hotel & it's staff.On the night of my birthday during our evening meal, the staff sang happy birthday to me, it made my day & filled me with happiness that they had put themselves out in between their busy work schedule to do this.We thank you all for your kindness & making this our best ever holiday especially Gorte who looked after us in the restaurant, she is a wonderful lady & always holds a beautiful smile, we will never forget you.God willing we will all be back next year, there is no other place in the world that we would rather go.Obrigada meus amigos viva o portugal👏👏♥️♥️
Just returned home and wishing we had stayed another week! It was our second visit and sometimes a second time can be disappointing but not here! Staff just as happyand efficient and accomodation and restaurant absolutely wonderful. Full marks to the Head Chef and his team including the waiters and waitresses. Food superior to other hotels and so tasty and well presented. Thankyou to Miguel for allocating Room 1468 to us. Very similiar to last year. Thankyou all and see you next year ( if not before!)
This is not really a great big 5 * Riu Palace. If you know the Riu brand you will know what I mean. Riu Palace Medeira is a bit small, provincialand hasn't got the wow factor. Rooms here are smaller than the Riu Palace standard that I am used to in Central America and the Caribbean. Stale entertaiment, just and old geeza band doing old cover songs. There is only one buffet restaurant, a lobby bar and a pool bar. No themed restaurants, no multiple bars and no specialist coffee shop, no 24hr sports bar etc, no bbq on the beach. All pretty basic. Really not a Riu Palace standard. Drinks selection absolute rubbish. All inclusive cocktails no good. Must pay extra if you want a Baileys, Advocat or Amaretto. Do not bother ordering a Pina Colada or Daiquiri. Pure sugar no taste. On the plus side the food tastes pretty good though the staff are too keen to clear everything well before the advertised closing time. If you want real Riu Palace experience go to Costa Rica or Cancun. Other than that all staff are very polite and friendly. Alas I would say you are better off getting a bed and breakfast in the capital city, Funchal, around the Lido area and eating and drinking out on town. It gets pretty boring around this hotel with most guests over 50 bored out of their heads drinking heavily entertaining themselves by staring at you shamelessly. 😂
Really I'm having a great time here. The food is really good to excellent. Lots of fish and meats and plenty of variety all the time, if you do the all-inclusive. There was a constant supply of very fresh fruit and vegetables. Lots of desserts!The rooms are really large and though the hotel is 20 years old, it is very well maintained.The hotel staff are well picked. They are all kind and helpful. This is what I would expect of a hotel of this caliber. They did not disappoint me.I would return again.Lots of Tours offered and plenty to do around the hotel as well. Evening shows are great. A different thing every night.
If you go to the Riu Palace Madeira you will want for nothing the staff are exceptional there is nothing they will not do to improve your stay.Food is varied to suit all and you can eat as you want. Just a short distance outside the main town in a quiet area where a pleasant walk along the coast to relax, It is also on a regular bus route for access Funchàl the old and the new I highly recommend the Route Palace Madeira
Hotel is lovely. The staff are amazing! We had a lovely week in mederia. Definitely would go to a RIU again. If you are just looking for a relaxing holiday by the pool I couldn't recommend this enough. Rooms are air conditioned with twin beds that are huge and comfortable. Bathroom was really nice too. Because the water there is drinkable but tastes funny they provide free bottle of water at reception.

This hotel is five star all the staff are first class and work very hard to keep there guests very safe during this covid 19 epidemic..I wouldn't hesitate to go back to a RUIhotel..nothing is too much trouble..the food is amazing as is the hotel .

Great hotel with an amazing view . The placement is magnificent, right at the ocean shores. Service is great , incredible food . Rooms might need a bit of renovating , but it was not a problem for me personally .

It was fabulous. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. The room was very big with a very comfortable bed. Bathroom with bath which I liked. The food was to die for, too many choices really and the drinks were just about all premium brands. I never want to stay in a less than 4star hotel again!!

Fantastic holiday. The staff were so welcoming and helped us with any queries. The area is not for those that want to explore by foot really, but for us it was all about relaxation.
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, good food and drinks. The hotel is fairly accessible for disabled people (I found easy access to everything but the outdoor pool area). There are small shops / cafes nearby and the distance to Funchal isn't far by either taxi or bus.

Second visit here. All inclusive with thompson. Very nice food and so much variety. Great facilities and very friendly professional staff. Two outside pools and one indoor one. Small gym. Will return again in the future. Ideal for couples who want a peaceful relaxing holiday.

The hotel is now dated and in need of refurbishment the food is not as good as it was any food running low is not replaced . The public toilets toilet rolls are left empty .The staff are excellent butthe whole place is getting tired .

80-er Jahre Bunker der nie modernisiert wurde, bestenfalls für ü80 geeignet oder als Quarantäne Absteige. Auch die Qualität des Essens ist bestenfalls mit eine einfachen Kantine vergleichbar. Hier komme ich nicht wieder.
